ART PAPER BOX
Art paper box is made of 200-350 grams art paper which is relatively thin, about 0.3-0.45 mm thickness. Due to the material charactor, it has below advantages and disadvantages:
Advantages:
- More competitive price, therefore, it fits more for less cavities packaging boxes, for example packaging boxes for 2PC, 3PC,4PC, even for 5PC and 6PC.
- foldable, so can be shipped or stocked flatly, which will save freight and storage space
Disadvantages:
- It needs to be set up by folding the everything one by one manually. It will take a lot of labor costs and energy at your side;
- Due to the thin material, it is not strong as rigid box
- Compared to rigid box, it looks relatively not high-end enough
- The MOQ is usually higher, more than 1000 orders are needed
RIGID BOX
Rigid box is named so because of the main material: thick 1000-1200g cardboard. This kind of custom luxe packaging box will be wrapped with thin printed paper, which is about 1.7-2.0mm thick.
Advantage:
- It looks high-end and can well show the quality of your chocolates / bonbons/ jewlry / truffles /etc.. Custom luxe packaging box will help your sales for sure, especially custom luxe rigid boxes.
- It will be shipped as setup instead of flatly, so no need for you or your staff to fold one by one manually. A lot of labor costs will be saved at your side.
- The kind of custom luxe packaging box is relatively sturdy, uneasy to be damaged, and can protect your products well.

Disadvantages:
- Relatively higher price compared with art paper box
- Compared with art paper box, it will cost more freight and more space when transportation and stock.
You can select better fit according to your budget and market positioning. Many customers will choose art paper box for projects with lower budgets or sales price, and choose the luxe rigid box for higher end product line.
